What is Stone Therapy?

Stone therapy is a deeply relaxing and healing ancient therapy and has been used in many different cultures for over 2000 years. In old times healers used hot and cold stones to relax the muscles, reduce the pain and to boost a healing process by placing them on body and arranging along the energy centers of the body.
Today, Hot Stone therapy is used in the same way as it was centuries ago and for the same benefits. Stone therapy works not only on the physical body but also embraces spiritual levels bringing about a relaxed state – when the mind aligns with the spirit through deep relaxation, the body is able to heal itself.

What to expect?

During the massage, water-heated basalt stones are placed at specific sites on the client’s body to promote relaxation, release energy blocks and to allow herbal oils to penetrate deep beneath the skin’s surface.
The placing of the stones is followed by a massage which is deeper and more intense as heat penetrates the body and relaxes the muscles.

Cold marble stones can be placed:

on dark circles that appear under the eyes and relieve tired and puffy eyes
on the sinus areas to alleviate nasal swelling and reduce sinus congestion
in the abdominal area, where they can help draw swelling away from the uterus and may ease menstrual discomfort
The benefits using the contrast of Hot and Cols stones stimulates the blood vessels to dilate in the tissues, perfusing them with fresh blood and nutrients, which are essential for healing to occur.
