I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with almost twenty years’ experience working with clients within a variety of settings, including work place counselling and charitable organisations, as well as private practice. I am committed to working ethically and hold a Clinical Registration with each of the professional organisations UKCP, UPCA and BACP and remain bound by their code of ethics and practice.

My training is integrative and is influenced by existential and psychodynamic approaches. I am open and non-judgemental and have experience of a many presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, abuse, bereavement and relationship issues. I also have specialist experience and training with addictions including drugs, alcohol, food and internet use to include on line gambling and porn sites.

I work individually with people from the age of 16 and for as long as they feel the need to come, which could be a few weeks or a number of years. I can work with children by special request. Although I am the therapist, and so called expert, I believe the client is the true expert on themselves and they have simply lost their confidence or ability to see beyond their difficult experiences so remain stuck. I see my job as helping people work through these emotional blocks, be they either from childhood or from recent difficulties, in order to reconnect with themselves and to empower them to be able to make healthy choices so that they can feel less overwhelmed.

I am also a UKCP registered Clinical Supervisor supporting both trainee and qualified therapists.
