I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered Counsellor. My core training is as an integrative therapist, and I use a variety of approaches, working flexibly with an emphasis on creating a warm and non-judgmental relationship where you can freely express and explore your thoughts and feelings.

I work using an integrative model of counselling, this means I use my knowledge of various therapeutic, models during our time together, this gives me the freedom and flexibility to work in a way which best suits you as an individual.  By working together in a safe, non-judgmental and secure environment we can examine what is concerning you and causes you distress.

Together we can build a therapeutic relationship where you can freely express and explore youth thoughts and feelings and also we can identify and understand possible areas to look at more closely.  My aim is to assist you to see your life more clearly and to help you make choices and decisions.

I undertake regular one to one supervision and attend professional development events.  I also engage in regular training to keep my skills and knowledge up to date.

All my work is in compliance with the BACP’s ethical; framework and guidelines and I am subject to its complaints procedure.

Confidentiality and Record

The content of the sessions are confidential to you and me.  I will need to discuss my work with my supervisor and peer supervision group.  I will use your first name but not use any other identifying details about you.  On very rare occasions if we discover there is a need to communicate with other  professionals, this will only happen by first seeking your permission and knowledge of what is going to be discussed.

If the need were to arise for me to communicate with another professional about you, I would only do so after having discussed it with you.

An exception to maintaining strict confidentiality is where there is very serious cause for concern for your well-being or that of another person.  This is also the case, if a serious crime has, or is to be committed or if national security is threatened.  If these were to arise I would endeavour to discuss this with you before taking any action.
